PicturesQR and Gather & Group do the same basic job. You put a QR code on the tables, guests scan it with their phone camera, and their photos and videos go into one gallery. Nobody downloads an app or makes an account.
Where they differ is the price, who can see the photos, how much help you get once the wedding is over, and what happens if nobody uploads.
We make Gather & Group, so we are not neutral. This PicturesQR review is based on its own website and reviews at the time of writing (October 2026), and we say where it beats us.
The short version
Choose PicturesQR if you want one low price for a full year, you are happy for guests to see each other's photos on the event page, and you don't mind sorting through the photos yourself.
Choose Gather & Group if you want help at every stage. Before the wedding you get QR cards designed for the day, printed at home or delivered to your door. On the day, guests upload to a gallery only you can see, and if nobody uploads you get your money back. Afterwards, on our Premium plan, automatic reminders bring in the photos guests forgot to send and you can find every photo of one person. On either plan you can turn the best into a printed photobook.

Price
PicturesQR's $39 covers everything it offers, including 12 months of uploads and downloads, the live slideshow and albums. It only charges in US dollars, so outside the US the price depends on the exchange rate and your card may add a fee.
We charge in your own currency: pounds, US dollars, Euros, Australian dollars or Canadian dollars. Our Basic plan is £29 / $39, the same as PicturesQR in the US, and gives you 3 months. Our Premium plan is £49 / $67 and gives you 12 months, plus face grouping, the live slideshow, albums and automatic guest reminders. PicturesQR is cheaper for a full year, but it leaves the chasing and the sorting to you.
Who can see your photos
On PicturesQR, guests who scan the code land on an event page where they can see everyone's uploads. You can switch on Private Album so guests can upload but not view, and you can add a PIN.
On Gather & Group, guests upload and only you see the gallery, so nothing is on show until you have looked through it. On our Premium plan you can then share a gallery link with guests and choose what they can see.
Getting the photos guests forget to upload
Plenty of guests mean to upload and don't get round to it before they leave. On our Premium plan, Gather & Group emails your guests after the wedding to remind them, so the photos still sitting on their phones reach you without you chasing anyone. PicturesQR doesn't mention reminders on its site, so following up is down to you.
Sorting through hundreds of photos
A wedding with 100 guests can easily produce several hundred photos. PicturesQR lets you sort them into albums, and guests can pick an album when they upload. You download everything as one ZIP file or one at a time.
On our Premium plan, Gather & Group groups the photos by the faces in them, so you can open every photo of your gran or your best man in one tap and download a folder for each person. Couples often mention it in their reviews. On both plans you can filter out blurry and poor quality shots.
QR cards and photobooks
PicturesQR gives you more than a dozen ready-made templates to download and print yourself. We have eight QR code designs as table cards, postcards or posters. You can print them at home for free, or have them printed and delivered to your door.
After the wedding, you can turn the guest photos into a printed photobook without leaving the gallery. PicturesQR suggests downloading your photos to make a book elsewhere.
If nobody uploads
Some couples worry that their guests won't use it. PicturesQR's terms say all sales are final. Our zero-upload guarantee gives you a full refund if no guests upload, as long as you ask within 14 days of the wedding.
Where your photos are kept
PicturesQR's terms are governed by Canadian law. Its privacy policy says its servers may be outside your country, and that by using it you agree to your data being transferred internationally. It doesn't say which countries.
Gather & Group is a UK company. Your photos are stored on UK servers and handled under UK GDPR, and no outside AI service ever sees them. If you want to know more, we explain how we keep wedding photos private.
Where PicturesQR comes out ahead
PicturesQR costs less than our Premium plan for a full year with a slideshow and albums. You can also use one QR code for the engagement party, the shower and the wedding, with a separate album for each.
Our verdict
PicturesQR is a good, simple way to collect guest photos, and if price is all that matters it is hard to beat. You get a folder of photos and the rest is up to you.
Gather & Group does more of the work for you. Your gallery stays private until you choose to share it, and if nobody uploads you get your money back. On our Premium plan, reminders bring in the photos guests forgot and every photo is sorted by the people in it. For a day you can't repeat, we think that is worth the difference. You can try it free for 5 days without a card and see for yourself.

PicturesQR FAQs
Is PicturesQR any good?
Yes. PicturesQR reviews on Trustpilot are positive (4.7 out of 5 at the time of writing), and reviewers mostly praise how easy it is for guests to use. It doesn't sort your photos by person, remind guests to upload or refund you if nobody uploads, which is where Gather & Group differs.
How much does PicturesQR cost?
PicturesQR is $39 USD per event, paid once. That includes unlimited uploads, albums, a live slideshow and 12 months of access. You can try it before paying without entering a card.
Does PicturesQR have facial recognition?
Not that we can find. PicturesQR's website doesn't mention any way to find photos by face. Gather & Group's Premium plan groups photos by the people in them, so you can see every photo of one guest together.
Can I get a refund from PicturesQR?
PicturesQR's terms say all sales are final, though it asks you to contact support if you have a problem. Gather & Group refunds you in full if no guests upload, as long as you ask within 14 days of the wedding.
Is PicturesQR cheaper than Gather & Group?
It is the same price as our Basic plan (£29 / $39) and cheaper than our Premium plan (£49 / $67). Our Basic plan gives you 3 months. For 12 months, a slideshow, face grouping and automatic guest reminders you need our Premium plan.
Do guests need an app for either?
No. With both, guests scan a QR code with their phone camera and upload in their browser, with no app and no account.
Can guests see each other's photos?
On PicturesQR, yes, unless you switch on Private Album. On Gather & Group, only you see the photos unless you choose to share the gallery on our Premium plan.
